OVERVIEW

As an Escalations Engineer on the Network Operations team, you will be responsible for Tier II to Tier III proactive monitoring/ execution, maintenance and changes of internal and customer facing network devices. This includes troubleshooting website and network connectivity issues to resolution and completely and accurately documenting all work activity in the CRM system. You will work directly with other internal engineering departments and data center personnel to ensure that all customer expectations are being met at the highest possible level. The Network Operations Center is a 24x 7 operation. The work schedule is flexible. Although dedicated schedules will be created/ maintained, all candidates must be open to working day and night shifts as needed. The position provides some on call work and is required to carry Blackberry or Windows Mobile device.

LOCATION

This person will work in a virtual Office Environment for on-going remote support of client systems and may work on-site as the need arises.

EDUCATION

·         Microsoft MCSE 2003 certification. Please quote your MCSE number on your resume

·         Additional Microsoft Certifications that indicate a core specialty should be included

·         Desired, but not required, a BS in Computer Science

REQUIREMENTS

At least 5 years experience in a corporate or ISP LAN/WAN environment

·         At least 5 years of Cisco router and switch experience using IOS and Catalyst OS

·         Experience with Catalyst 6500, 4000, and Cisco PIX Firewalls

·         Through knowledge of related Internet protocols and technologies

·         Virtual Private Network (VPN) technologies: IPSec, PPTP, L2TP w/IPsec

·         Experience with remote troubleshooting and administration of remote devices

·         Extensive knowledge of Cisco environments

·         BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and Layer 2 communications including STP, 802.1Q, VTP

·         Layer 3 load balancing experience, preferably with F5 networks BigIP

·         Exceptional troubleshooting skills

·         Troubleshooting connectivity over LAN/WAN environments

·         Experience with major hardware vendors and their escalation policies

Desired Skills

·         Experience with Netscaler Load balancers Linux and Unix admin experience.

·         Basic operations in the Linux shell / console such as tail, grep, less, various linux commands such as "ps" "df" "top" and "find"

·         Experience with TCPDUMP

·         Availability to respond to off-hour technical crises
